Ochsner International was founded by Othon Henry Ochsner, a Swiss bike racer who became The Swiss Pursuit Champion in 1919. In 1969 he founded Ochsner & Ochsner Importers, working from their residence with Louise (his wife) at his side. The company grew rapidly and office space was soon required. They imported racing bicycle framesets, components, tires, and clothing. The company’s name changed to Ochsner International, Inc. and Othon served as president and C.E.O. until the Lord called him home in 1981. Othon Henry Ochsner II began his professional career in the legal department at Chicago-based Walgreen’s. Othon next joined the marketing team at Porsche Car Imports in Northbrook, Illinois where he worked until 1968. Othon was then recruited by Pirelli Tire Corporation and served as their National Sales Manager until 1973 when he resigned his position to return to Chicago to join the family business.
